Welcome to the Cook Bay Yacht Club
Welcome to the Cook Bay Yacht Club (CBYC) official website! On this site, you will find descriptions of the club, its history, racing programs, event calendar and membership application.
Cook Bay is located on Lake Simcoe on the south end of the lake surrounded by the communities of Gilford, Keswick and Georgina. Cook Bay harbours some of the best sailing on the lake with good winds and relatively flat waters.
The Cook Bay Yatch Club has a long history. It was created in 1975 and since has offered sailors and cruisers alike with with a platform to fullfill our sailing dreams. Whether it is racing our sailboats around the marks, cruising to our favourite places or spending time on our boats with family and friends, members of the CBYC have a lot to enjoy.
The CBYC has a very long history of sailboat racing and many excellent sailors have developed their skills on the Tuesday night series which has ran every year from May to September since 1975 and CBYC is a proud host of the LSIS (Lake Simcoe Inter Club Series) race in June.
Our Regatta Program is complemented by many crusing and social events. We are very much a relaxed family-oriented club where members work together as volunteers in several commitees including racing, social, etc.
CBYC serves as a hub for sailors keeping their boats at Kon-Tilki, Cook Bay and Crate’s marinas. The club does not currently have its own harbour or club house facilities. Seminars, parties, BBQs & meetings are conducted at either rental facilities or hosted at Kon-Tiki marina in Gilford.
Whether you are an avid racer or a social cruiser you will feel welcomed at CBYC. Please take a minute to check our calendar of events and feel free to drop by and join us! or just contact us with any questions that you may have.
